The Real Challenge of Being a Father
Thanks to my awesome cousin Alison for giving me this. So incredibly hilarious. Is there a time where it is too early to have "the talk"?

So sad
About 2 weeks ago there were two cops outside a lecture hall on campus at 7 PM. When asked why they were there they replied that they were "security" because inside the lecture hall there were speakers from Westboro Baptist Church. I had never heard of them so when I got home that night (or the next day. My days are all bunched up) I looked them up and some videos about them. I will not give my full review because that would be much too long and in the end fruitless. What I will say is how deeply it saddens me to see all the useless crap that they bring to their "protests". The only thing I could think of the whole time when I was reading about how they protest Soldiers funerals was what if I was at that funeral. My father served in the military, my brother served, and my younger brother is about to serve. If my little brother died and I look over at his funeral and see a "Thank God for Dead Soldiers sign".......well I find it interesting that they spit on the brave men that gave them the very right and freedom to spit on it. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
This is a little video of said Westboro. Let me just say this. FOX NEWS called them nutty and they love Glenn Beck and Bill O'reily. Just saying

The Worst Paper Cut
Today I was getting something out of my bag and the absolute worst thing possible happened. I reached in to look for a folder and moved my hand sideways inside the bag. What I did not know was that my fingers were actually in a folder and a piece of paper was UNDER my fingernail. As I moved my hand sideways I got a massive paper cut all along the length of my hand. And this horrendous paper cut along the whole of my finger was UNDER my finger nail. It gets my vote for the worst paper cut ever.

First Day at a Public School
I am currently in what I call a half student teaching class. I go to a school a couple times a week and observe and teach a few lessons. I have noticed a couple things. The first thing is that I absolutely love being a teacher (at least so far). The students are phenomenal and I have never gotten up at 700 AM and been excited. IT is a wonderful feeling. The second thing I noticed is that interaction with these students is giving me some wonderful stories. So I thought I would share them.
I was teaching a lesson the other day and we were talking about people having an identity crisis. I told the students that when I went from a Christian to a public school I had a major identity crisis. It was a totally different atmosphere and things that were cool at LCS were not cool at the public school. So I told my class that at the Christian school corduroys were cool. So on my first day at public school I wore my incredibly stylish green corduroys and a tucked in yellow shirt. One girl in the front (who up to this point never talked to me and ignored me) put her head down and started cracking up. She raised he hand and said "Wait. So you thought green corduroys were cool?" At this point I realized I had become my father. So I said to her, "Hey I was Mr. style man with my green corduroys and yellow shirt. The ladies loved me". Now she calls me Mr. Style and makes sure I know she does not forget I wore green corduroys. Middle schoolers are awesome.
